Having a strong fondness for clock making and timepieces, he learnt about clock making and precision mechanics from older relatives of the Brandt-dit-Grieurin, Sandoz, and Robert families. For 9 years, Pierre Jaquet-Droz devoted himself completely to clock making, to perfect the art of making timepieces.
