Expanding upon prior success, the original release of the Doxa SUB 600T in 1978 offered the public an even more robust diver. Its angular case design won its own fans while still maintaining the Doxa identity. Revamped for the 21st century, Doxa has brought a modern SUB 600T to market.
About Doxa Sub 600T Watches
Building on the success of the Sub 300, Doxa released the Sub 600T in 1978, incorporating a bolder and more angular design that was popular at the time. With 600 meters of water resistance and a longer case, the 600T is a step up from the Doxa Sub 300 in terms of durability. The Doxa Sub 600T of today maintains the original design of the case but is updated in terms of more durable materials and build quality.
Doxa Sub 600T History
In 1978, the Aubrey Freres Company purchased Doxa and took over the production and management of the brand. With this shift in the company, there was a shift in the designs. Gone were the curvaceous tonneau case design, and in came blocky and angular designs that defined the late 70s and into the 1980s.
They did keep the dive ascension calculating bezel, bright orange dials, and overbuilt durability, but high prices for the time and the quartz crisis forced Doxa to dwindle away. In 1997, when Doxa was resurrected, the brand focused on the designs of the 1960s until 2021, with the resurrection of the Sub 600T.
How Much Do Doxa Sub 600T Watches Cost?
With each model within the Doxa Sub 600T range being largely the same except for dial color, the price range is quite narrow, starting at $1,350 for the watch on a nylon strap with a steel bezel to $1,590 for the watch on a steel bracelet with a ceramic bezel.
The dial options available include Shakrhunter (black), Sharkhunter B&W, Professional (orange), Caribbean (blue), Divingstar (yellow), Searambler (silver), Whitepearl (white) and Aquamarine (turquoise).
The models on the bracelet include a ratcheting dive extension in the clasp. The nylon strap models include a pin buckle with quick-release spring bars, and the rubber strap models include a folding clasp.
The good thing about the small price delta between strap options and the bracelet is that deciding which model to choose is based on personal preference and less on the associated cost.

What's Unique About Doxa Sub 600T Watches?
The Doxa Sub 600T keeps many of the traits that are unique to Doxa watches. In addition to the modern color additions, the Doxa signature orange dial is available. The bezel features markings used to calculate ascension times for non-compression dives, assisting divers to make certain they do not get the bends while returning to the surface (a phenomenon that occurs when divers return from the great depths of the ocean to the surface too quickly).
The 600T differs from other Doxa models in its case design. It is more angular and blocky compared to the cushion case shape of the Sub 300. While the bezel diameter is smaller than the 300 (40mm compared to the 300's 42mm), the Sub 600T is longer lug-to-lug at 47mm. This does make the watch wear larger, reading as a bolder watch, especially in bright colors, compared to the Sub 300.
Doxa Sub 600T Movements
Inside all Doxa Sub 600T watches are the Sellita SW200-1, an automatic winding 3-hand mechanical movement with a date, hacking, and hand-winding functions. The movement has a 38-hour power reserve and beats at 28,800 bph. The movement includes some decorations done by Doxa.
Doxa Sub 600T Watch Colors
The Doxa Sub 600T collection utilizes the Professional (orange), Searambler (silver), Sharkhunter (black), Sharkhunter B&W (black with white markings) Caribbean (navy blue), Divingstar (yellow), Whitepearl (white), and Aquamarine (turquoise blue) dial variations.
The Professional, Searambler, Sharkhunter, and Caribbean dials feature black (white on ceramic) and orange bezel markings, while the Divingstar, Aquamarine, and Whitepearl feature bezel markings to match the dial. All models are available with either steel or ceramic bezels except for the Sharkhunter B&W, which has a ceramic bezel.
Doxa Sub 600T Watch Materials
The Doxa Sub 600T stays with traditional materials for a dive watch, with the case, case back, bezel, and bracelet made of stainless steel. Should you opt for one of the strap options, the straps are made of either rubber or nylon.
The rubber models come with a steel deployant clasp, and the nylon comes with a steel pin buckle. The crystal covering the dial is made of sapphire, offering the scratch-resistant durability expected from a modern dive watch.
