If the harmony was disrupted for whatever reason, the clocks found their way into the same rhythm. There is a unique phenomenon that happens in physics when two objects oscillate at the same frequency but at different times on the same plane. Assuming that energy is able to be transmitted through that plane, the two objects will eventually sync up, oscillating at the same time.
This can be seen with mechanical metronomes set to the same tempo but started at different times. Eventually, they will sync up, and the pendulums of all the metronomes will oscillate back and forth. That is the same concept utilized in the Armin Strom Pure Resonance collection.
About Armin Strom Pure Resonance Watches
The ability of energy to transfer to separate objects on the same plane is utilized in the Armin Strom Pure Resonance line of watches. The movement of the watch utilizes two balance springs. Mounted to the movement plate and connected via patented resonance clutch spring, the two balances oscillate.
Any deviances between the two balances are eventually equalized, through resonance synchronization. This not only makes for visually stunning timepieces, but the two balances regulate each other, making for a more accurate watch.
Armin Strom Pure Resonance History
The original resonance timepieces were developed by Abraham Louis Breguet. In the early 1800s, the father of modern watchmaking developed a few examples of pocket watches that utilized two balance springs, thus utilizing the phenomenon of resonance synchronization to achieve greater accuracy.
While this method worked well for pocket watches and clocks, it proved difficult to produce a resonance movement in wrist watch form that continued to be reliably accurate. Claude Greissler at Armin Strom set out to find a way to produce a resonance wristwatch that maintained Marine Chronometer levels of accuracy (meaning the standard deviation remained consistent day to day).
By exploring the work of Christiaan Huygens, Greissler developed the Huygens Clutch Spring, which allows the resonance synchronization of two balance springs to work reliably within a wrist watch.

The most conventional looking and wearing Pure Resonance and Fire models measure 42mm in diameter, and have more conventional round cases.
