Omega Seamaster Diver 300m 210.20.42.20.03.001 Watch Review
For almost 200 years, Omega has provided its customers with delicately built luxury watches. Omega is one of the reasons why Swiss construction in luxury watches is regarded so highly.
Since 1993, one of the most popular Omega collections is the Seamaster collection, which is their selection of dive watches. Built with a balance of performance, durability, and aesthetics, this collection of watches is truly exceptional. The Omega Seamaster Diver 300m 210.20.42.20.03.001is an excellent example of the craftsmanship in this collection.
The Bodywork
The Seamaster Diver 300m 210.20.42.20.03.001 has a stainless steel case with 18k yellow gold. The bracelet is stainless steel with lines of yellow gold and the crowns of the watch are also made of polished yellow gold.
Similarly, the bezel of the watch is yellow gold with a polished blue ceramic fill and satin-finished ceragold diving scale. This combination of the electric blue bezel and yellow gold is stunning.
At the same time, the watch was built with sapphire crystal not only to offer protection to the dial but also to boost the aesthetics of the watch. The sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating on both sides. This watch is unique because not only is the dial made with sapphire crystal, but sapphire crystal is also used on the back of the case. The placement of this crystal allows the wearer to see the movement inside the watch. Due to the sturdiness and scratch-resistance of the crystal, both sides of the watch are protected from damage.
If you want to amp up the look of this watch further and make it more robust, you can switch out the bracelet and clasp for a Brown Novonappa Leather Strap, which brings out the blue dial of the watch even more.
The Dial
The dial of this watch is perhaps the most beautiful part of it. The overall dial is a high gloss blue zirconium oxide ceramic dial with a laser engraved wave design as its background. This glossy blue color is paired with polished yellow gold hour markers with a luminous fill to give them an enchanting glow. Similarly, the minute hands are also polished yellow gold, but they only have luminous tips, while both hands are skeltonized. When all of these colors and designs come together, the dial of the watch looks phenomenal.
To further elevate the aesthetics of the dial, Omega decided to fine print the minute and seconds track, giving the watch an artistic feel. In addition, the date window is perfectly placed without disrupting the design of the watch.
The Performance
While Omega put a lot of thought in the aesthetics of this dive watch, they did not forget about the performance. Equipped with the Omega Calibre 8800 movement system, the Seamaster Diver 300m 210.20.42.20.03.001 has a power reserve of 55 hours and a Certified Master Chronometer approved by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology). This means that the precision of this movement system is certificated. In addition to an accurate movement system, this chronometer is resistant to magnetic fields of up to 15000 gauss and offers the ability to self-wind or allow automatic winding in both directions.
As the name suggests, the Seamaster Diver 300m 210.20.42.20.03.001 offers a water resistance of up to 300 meters. Omega has also equipped the casing of this watch with a helium escape valve. This decompression system allows helium to escape from inside the watch when used in pressure chambers for professional use.
