This 60th Anniversary call back to one of the most iconic timepieces released in 1957 has been limited to a few thousand pieces. Like the Omega 1957 Seamaster and 1957 Speedmaster, the Omega 1957 Railmaster is based on the original aesthetic design from over 6 decades ago. This includes its resistance to magnetic interference for those working on the Union Pacific train lines around huge diesel powered power plants. These trains, just like hydroelectric dam turbines and modern MRI equipment would wreak havoc on the machinations of a subpar watch.
The 2017 model honors the original 1957 humble stylings and has captured the nostalgic beauty on the outside, but the 2017 Omega 1957 Railmaster has been equipped with Omega's state-of-the-art Master Chronometer 8806. In other words, while only the Omega 1957 Railmaster was originally created to resist magnetic interference, today all three in Omega's 1957 lineup can withstand intense magnetic field interference.
