Omega Seamaster Railmaster Denim Model Watch Review
The Omega Seamaster Railmaster is one of the best 2018 novelties to emerge from the great house of Omega. The original Omega Railmaster of 1957 was a practical yet elegant anti-magnetic watch designed for railway staff or anyone who worked close to electrical fields. Today, that industrial spirit and innovation have been updated for a modern collection.
Design
There is a beige central seconds hand and transferred "Railmaster" indication, which delivers a classic touch. This 40mm stainless steel timepiece features a lovely strained multi-hued denim style dial. This satin finished watch measures 12.6mm thick millimeters with a 20 millimeters spacing between the lugs. This watch is stunning, comfortable, discreet, and relatively flat so it will sit underneath a dress cuff of any kind.
Hardware
This watch features a solid three-link bracelet with staggered alignment and size. Removable links are fixed by screws, and Omega has fitted half links for precise sizing. It has a double fold matching clasp, and its underside is curved to match the arc of the wrist. It has a twin trigger clasp, so you must press both triggers to open. It does not have friction fit and there is no clamshell.
Everything is subdued and satin-finished, but it also has the standard Omega case with lyre style lugs. They turn inward and outward, and the bevels flair at the end of the lug profile. The mid-case is longitudinally set and finished. The bevels give the watch an incredible glare resistance. It uses a post-2017 Aqua Terra style case with a conical crown profile and no shear guard, making it easier to access the crown.
The bezel uses concentric circular satin and the dial references the vintage reference CK2914. There is a dart-style hour track outboard with quarter Arabic numerals cross-hair center and railroad-style minutes and seconds.
There is a beautiful real denim strap you can buy from Omega to fit this watch. It has an oriented case back featuring a NAIAD LOCK design to keep the wording on position. The crown screws down, and it has a water resistance of 150 meters.
Movement
This watch uses the caliber 8806, which is basically the same movement you find in the Diver 300m but without the date window. It beats at 25,200 vph because it uses Omega's coaxial escapement, invented by George Daniels in 1974 and industrialized by Omega in 1999.
This is a watch that gives you just about everything you could need in a sports watch from a great brand with a great history. This watch is very attractive option for anyone who loves fine timepieces, and it wears well with any attire.
Omega is one of the fastest-growing watch brands in the world. It can call itself a manufactory, as all parts used in their watches are made in-house. It has been making automatic watches since 1848. Omega's patented movement, the coaxial escapement, requires almost no maintenance and is part of nearly every automatic Omega watch.
