Hublot Big Bang Titanium Integral Bracelet 42mm 451.NX.1170.NX
Established in 1980, Hublot has grown to become one of the leading Swiss watchmaking companies. With great attention to detail and an innovative approach, Hublot has managed to put its name in the top ranks of luxury watchmakers. Known for their ability to assimilate luxury in sporty watches, the Hublot Big Bang Titanium 451.NX.1170.NX is a testimony to their reputation.
Having first been introduced at Baselworld 2005, the Big Bang was an instant hit with watch enthusiasts. 15 years later Hublot decided to revisit this masterpiece. Upgrading a 15 year old design to meet modern standards is a difficult task, yet Hublot executed it perfectly with this innovative and stylish relaunch of the Big Bang.
The Case
One of the reasons why this watch was an instant hit when relaunched in 2020 was due to the upgrades Hublot made to its casing and bodywork. It has a unique, integrated bracelet that is not only aesthetically powerful but also functional. The bracelet and the rest of the casing, except the bezel, are made of a satin-finished, polished titanium. This color scheme combines a classy and sporty look perfectly.
To further add to the aesthetic value of this watch, the integrated bracelet allows for the bracelet and the dial to blend seamlessly together. In addition to the polished elegance of the casing, the black composite resin lower bezel has 6 H-shaped titanium screws to give the watch an extra kick. The color scheme of black and titanium is a delight to look at no matter the kind of watches you like.
Finally, Hublot made sure that the front and back of the case are covered with sapphire crystal. Not only does this give you a view of the moving gears, but it also protects the watch's aesthetic integrity with its scratch-resistant properties. Furthermore, the sapphire crystal is coated with an anti-reflective coating to help maintain the visual integrity of the dial.
The Dial
To add a sportier feel to this watch, Hublot gave it a matte black dial with skeletonized hands. Additionally, to truly make this a sporty watch, Hublot added two sub-dials; one dial measures 60 seconds and the other measures one hour, allowing you to keep track of shorter time intervals with ease.
The Movement
Hublot has used the Calibre Hublot UNICO HUB1280 for this watch, which as the name suggests is made in-house by Hublot. This self-winding movement system is designed with a double-clutch mechanism, column wheel, and flyback function.
While the column wheel is a standard function used in luxury watches for the start, stop, and reset commands of the chronograph, the flyback function isn't available in all watches. This function allows you to reset the watch hand to zero by pressing once on the pusher at 4 o'clock, without having to stop the hand at 2 o'clock. Alongside this useful function, the general specifications of this in-house caliber are phenomenal. Offering a massive power reserve of 72 hours and a frequency of 28800 vph, the precision is unmatched.
Additionally, a sports watch wouldn't be a sports watch if it weren't durable. To maintain the longevity and durability of this watch, it is designed to offer water resistance up to 100 meters.
