This Grand Seiko SBGK009 is in EXCELLENT condition. This watch includes its original box, operating instructions, and warranty card dated for August 2022.
The expansion of the Elegance collection was a priority for Grand Seiko in 2019. It is their most formal set of men’s timepieces. The Grand Seiko brand offers watches that acknowledge the classic elements of the genre with manually wound movements, slim stainless-steel cases, and straightforward legibility. The SBGK series was initially characterized by its use of precious metals. The SBGK009 has the same case and is the same caliber as the other SBGK models launched early in the previous year. It has an original stainless-steel bracelet and a folding buckle.
This model comes with Caliber 9S63, which is a significant addition to the ever-growing Grand Seiko family of movements. The Caliber 9S63 seconds hand is at the nine o’clock position and the power reserve indicator is at three o’clock. This caliber has a power reserve of 72 hours and measures just 11.6mm-thick with a diameter of 39mm. It delivers an accuracy rate of +5 to -3 seconds a day. It has a hand-wound caliber.
The black dial and metal band create perfect symmetry for the wearer. A curved dial with the bent minute and power reserve hand gives the watch a classic look. Everything from the case, which references the classic vintage Grand Seiko Elegance collection, to the incredible dial finish are tasteful and classic.
The bracelet is a dark grey color and the watch has a combination dial. It is reminiscent of vintage GS bracelets and shares a design philosophy with many of the classic Grand Seiko bracelets from the 1970s. The SBGK009 is monolithic and subtle. The shades of the dark gray dial change slowly and softly. It's elegant and sleek with richness and depth. It also has features that will give the wearer confidence while swimming; it is water-resistant up to 100m/330ft /10atm.
The SBGK009 has the same movement, case, and dial layout as others in the Grand Seiko Elegance collection. However, it has a more sober black dial and a finely-linked stainless steel bracelet instead of the crocodile leather strap that is common in the Elegance collection. The manual movement is another nod to the golden age of design. The wearer can wind the crown every few days when the 72-hour power reserve gets low.
