This Azimuth Robot BMF Chrono is in EXCELLENT condition. This watch includes its original box, operating instructions, and azimuth booklet.
Defying conventions and setting new standards, the Mecha-1 Chrono Gauge combines contemporary styling with fine Swiss craftsmanship. Taking its design cues from the iconic Porsche 911 of the 1980s, the sub-counters take the shape of the car’s dashboard, presenting a fine work of art bundled in a wrist-sized package.
The Porsche 911 has been highly contested throughout the decade as a car model that went against all mechanical rules – its engine is located at the rear, an anomaly in the car-making industry.
But it is this very anomaly that resounded with Azimuth, a champion for all things that are unconventional. The Chrono-Gauge BMF is thus birthed as a tribute to this very car model that went beyond every imaginable constraint to emerge as one of the most outstanding cars of the decade.
True to 911’s behaviour on the roads, the Chrono-Gauge BMF is subdued. Powerfully subdued. Its energy is kept contained within the raw powdered and accentuated curves of the tonneau-shaped case. Minutes are displayed in retrograde form on a horizontal arc, and chronograph, hours, minutes on four sub dials. The Torx drive cheese-head tamper-resistant screws, stylised crown and five unique sapphire crystal windows complete the look, resulting in a timepiece that embodies the winning signatures of the Porsche 911.
Powering the watch is a modified Swiss Valjoux 7750 self-winding movement. This caliber comprises 25-jewels and oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vibration per hour (4Hz). It comes in either a black PVD treated steel or a stainless steel tonneau-shaped case.
