Crafted in black PVD coated steel with penetrating SuperLuminova green exuding from the semicircular
time indicator, and from the hands, pushers and crown – Ghost has a haunting, yet mystifying appeal that
is immediately identifiable and makes a magnificent statement of individuality.
Based on the signature Chrono Gauge Mecha-1 watch, Ghost’s ergonomic shape and fluid
design bear witness to Azimuth’s commitment to excellence. The concept for Ghost was
that of Alvin Lye, owner of Azimuth. The original Chrono Gauge Mecha-1 models had a
glow to them that he felt could be extremely pronounced in a black PVD case with a richer
green luminosity. The end result – Ghost -- is an illusive, shadowy timepiece that seems
to taunt the imagination with its green glow. It is so spectacular that the Niresh Rajpersad,
managing director of Coast Time, distributor of Azimuth in North America, bought all 200
pieces for the US market.
Ghost houses a totally reconfigured Valjoux 7750 caliber that enables the timepiece to
feature a luminous green semicircular digital hour and minute display running from 10
to 2 on the dial. Beneath that in a T-format are the chronograph totalizers and the seconds
subdial – each with luminous green hands. Even the pushers and crown feature
luminous green accents.
