This model features a DW 8801 mechanical, manual winding movement, manufactured in Vandoeuvers. The Minute Repeater complication enables the wearer to ask for the hours, quarters and minutes to be struck at any time. The redically innovative strike function activator is an exclusive DeWitt feature and is mysteriously located below the bezel. The magnificent ballet of the minuscule strike-hammers can be admired through the transparent case back protected by a sapphire crystal; a truly magical movement... the incomparably clear sound allied to the subtle movement of the miniature components. This remarkable movement is decorated with Cotes de Ganeve motifs. It features a 48-hour power reserve and is housed in the famous white gold Academia case, with bezel and middle section engraved with the DeWitt Imperial Columns.
The gold dial is lacquered in the caviar colour and hand-turned. The small seconds hand at 9 o'clock and the opening at 6 o'clock enable the wearer to admire the mechanism of the Minute Repeater.
