Roger Dubuis debuted as an independent watch maker in 1980. Born in Geneva, he was literally surrounded by many of the world's leading experts and, thus, it was natural that his interest in timepieces and his entrepreneurial spirit would lead him to establish his own manufactory in 1995. The popularity of Roger Dubuis is growing steadily as the world becomes familiar with the elegant craftsmanship that is the hallmark of this young company.
The partnership between Roger Dubuis and Carlos Dias resulted in the establishment of this fine company. The idea was to create watches based on tradition - but with an eye to the future. The original name was Sogem SA, changed later to Roger Dubuis.
The Roger Dubuis Horloger Genevois has been granted the honor of carrying the famous coat of arms of the City of Geneva. This recognizes a manufacturer's compliance with the strict standards set forth in the seventeenth century; the mechanical movements of the watches have been assembled in the Canton of Geneva and strict technical requirements and standards are maintained.
